A Little Clarification

It has come to our attention thru emails to Cedarmore, that there is a little confusion about the length of shares and the prices.. When reading the new changes please understand that the people that have already signed up for the full 32 week all season...you will get the entire 32 weeks. The season has not been shortened. The change in season length is only for the shares sold after March 14th.

Now are you ready for this.....The extended deadline for the spring and all season shares has been changed to April 14th. I know you are wondering , just as I am, why all the changes in deadlines? I guess we could better understand it all if we were all farmers. Andy needs to get a 'sooner' idea about how many shares he will have to plan for and then how much he is going to need to plant. It makes perfect sense to me now that someone has explained it to me. To put it in 'English terms', it's like answering an RSVP for a party. The host needs to make sure that he/she has prepared enough food for all the guests.

I am looking for to my first box. It can't come soon enough!

So, if we signed up for the full 32 weeks, is our first box in May?! I figured we'd get an email or something about it as the time approaches but I have been wondering. Thanks for the update!

We're in, Wammy! Spring and Summer, plus canned goods, plus eggs! We get eggs from our chickens but not enough, so it'll be great to get some quality eggs from the farm. I'm soooo interested to see what will be coming in those canned goods. The kids will be beside themselves with excitement about a "present" coming every week. Yay!

In The Beginning

Andy and Lizzie have known each other since they were very small. Growing up in an Amish community there are plenty of opportunities to play and work together. They grew up in the same church but went to different schools. Several years ago they moved from Wayne County, OH to right outside Hillsboro, OH and established Cedarmore Farm. The farm got it's name very simply...in Wayne County there were very few cedar or sycamore trees . When Andy and Lizzie got here, they noticed an abundance of cedar and sycamore trees on the land. So they just merged the two names and Cedarmore Farm was born. They have worked very hard in the few years that they have been farming the land. Andy and Lizzie are in the process of building their house and hopefully they will be able to move into the upstairs this spring. We can only see good things in their future farming experiences. And we wish them well.

Not only is Cedarmore growing fruits and vegetables. The Andy's have a growing family. They have four of the most precious children! Anna, who is excited about going to school this fall. Dennis who follows Andy around like his shadow. Moses who is doing well after a little run-in with the pigs. And Lovina who is the youngest at 9 months.

Then there is a new season on the farm. In the winter (Jan 2015), the Andy's packed up and moved to MO leaving the CSA in the most capable hands of John and Anna (Anna is Andy's twin sister) Zook and there 7 children. They changed the name of their farm to Cedarmore Farm so we English wouldn't be too confused. So the work has begun to provide lush healthy vegetables for the CSA season 2015 which begins in May.
